Window and door replacement financing across multiple lenders

Replacement windows are commonly financed with an unsecured home improvement loan of $8,000–$30,000 at representative APRs of 6.99%–27.99% over 24–144 months. Comparing offers from multiple lenders matters here because many window companies present a single in-house financing option with promotional pricing that may not be the lowest total cost.

Financing a whole-home window project

A typical 10–15 window replacement runs $12,000–$25,000 installed; premium fiberglass or triple-pane packages can exceed $40,000. Window companies frequently advertise "no payments for 12 months" or "0% for 18 months" — useful if you can pay the balance in time, expensive if you cannot, because deferred interest may apply retroactively.

Monthly cost examples

  • $15,000 at 8.99% APR, 84 months: about $241 per month
  • $15,000 at 12.99% APR, 84 months: about $272 per month
  • $15,000 at 8.99% APR, 144 months: about $170 per month

Questions to ask before signing

  1. Is this the only lender you work with, or can I compare offers?
  2. Is the promotional rate deferred interest or true 0%?
  3. What is the cash price versus the financed price?
  4. Is there a prepayment penalty?
